Maintenance of your heating units.

Winter is behind us, but it will be back in several months and it would be good to get ready for it before. You may have experienced a slight decrease in the speed of your device or a slight smell of burning when it becomes active in the fall. This may be a sign that you need to take care of it more seriously. It will only take a few gestures and a vacuum cleaner to stop worrying about its proper functioning when next fall comes.

CAUTION: Note that you will need to turn off the circuit breaker associated with the baseboards.

Located at the bottom of the wall, baseboards and convectors are prone to absorb and hide as much dust and dirt as possible and sometimes some tiny objects.

It would therefore be useful to clean it at least once a year.

Here are some steps to take when cleaning.

  • The baseboard

Depending on the model, remove gently the protective cover in front of the device and then clean the heat dissipation fins.

  • The convector

You will have to remove the facade and, ideally, we advise you to consult the user guide. It is also a question of access to the heat dissipation fins. that are fragile and must remain intact, because the space that separates each of them is calculated.

  • The fan forced heater

Some models have a filter that must be cleaned regularly.

Once the heat dissipation fins or filters have been cleaned, do not forget to clean the housing of the unit replaced.

Once all is done, enjoy the warm season outdoors!
