COVID-19 What you need to know right now about real estate transactions

Since April 20, 2020, the government authorizes real estate brokerage activities for priority real estate transactions.

This involve those:

• whose possession of the building is scheduled for July 31, 2020 at the latest; or

• who aim to relocate by July 31, 2020.

This is great news for people currently in an emergency situation. If we know how stressful the buying and selling process of a home can be in normal times, we dare not imagine how our customers feel in the current situation.

Also note that it is still possible for brokers to put a property on the market. This should however be done virtually.

The latest press release from the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) describes in depth the brokerage rules specific to the pandemic that our Sutton brokers agree to respect:

In these circumstances, each of our brokers agrees to comply with the rules of the Government and the Organisme d’autoréglementation du Québec and to give you, as usual, the best service in the interest and health of all.
